Neverending Laundry

Been busy but doing nothing.

I know, the title doesn't make sense but it's true.

Kyle's football season is over.
Jacob has one more game.
Junior varsity finished their season undefeated.
One more varsity game and then it is on to the playoffs.
You can see what rules our life in the fall.

I wish I had interesting and exciting things to post but I don't.

I am off to "mom things",.you know...laundry dishwasher vaccuuming etc.

Well Hellllooo Mr. Vice President

This evening Jacob was elected Vice President of the Junior High FFA,
that would be Future Farmers of America for all you city folk.
For those that don't know....we do not live on a farm nor does Jacob
have dreams of working land or raising animals. Our school just has an
awesome FFA club that attends and does well in various competitions.

Recap of events since my last post. We won the homecoming game Friday
night. Both boys raced on Saturday. Jacob got 8th in his class was
doing much better but then he rolled his quad and lost several
positions. Don't be too impressed with the top 10 finish, there was
only 9 in his class. Poor turn out due to rain and cold temps. Kyle
got 2nd in his class. He will never beat that first place kid. That
boy just has a much better machine. Again, don't be too impressed with
his place, he runs 90cc production and that class is always small
usually 5 or so. due to weather there was only 3.

I had more major dental work done Monday. Then had medical
bill/medical insurance melt down on Tuesday. It was not pretty. Still
have a headache from the excessive amount of tears shed.

Me and the dogs are headed to bed. Yep, that was plural. The snoring
pekingese is going even though Jeff banned him from our bed. His
snoring and bed hogging doesn't bother me, I can tune it out and shove
him over just like I have Jeff for over 16 years. Just giving my
darling husband a little taste of what I deal with every single night.
heehee Besides, the yorkie sleeps with me and I feel like I am picking
favorites. I don't pick favorites with my two legged kids and I won't
do it with the four legged ones either. Umm, yeah. I'm turning into
the little dog version of the crazy cat lady. LOL

The www ate my post.

I made a post last night but it disappeared. I don't even remember what I typed but I'm sure it was clever and witty. lol

It's homecoming week so float building is in full swing. I'd tell you about the junior high float but this stuff is top secret classified information. If I told ya'll the junior high student council would show up on my lawn like a lynch mob and hang me from the goal post in the south end zone lol

I really don't have anything to say this evening. I have a killer headache and just wanna go to bed. Which is exactly what I will do when my clothes are done in the dryer.

Big homecoming game Friday. I expect you all there wearing your snuggies. If any of the Stampede Zone peps are reading...Tim is really bummed that you sold t-shirts. He really wanted a personalized Mustang snuggie.

On a serious note. My heart goes out to my dear friends that have lost loved ones this week. If you need anything I am just a phone call away.

Dumped

So my "date" dumped me. It was just Jacob and I going to Seeger to watch the Mustangs whoop up on the Patriots. They did not disappoint. Mustangs won and I believe wrapped up the conference title.





After the game I call Jacob and tell him to meet me at the car. A minute later he calls to inform me he is spending the night with Koby.I had to drive home all by myself. Yep. I was dumped by my own 14 year old. *sigh*





I have a really funny story about my very blonde best friend but because I love her so much I won't tell it even though it makes for great blog material. lol

Still undefeated!

8th grade Mustangs are still undefeated! They beat South Vermillion 32-22.


I thought I was gonna have to march out on to the field and tell Jacob to pull his head out during the 3rd quarter. Then the coach benched for a few plays and he went back and had a great 4th quarter. If they awarded a trophy for player of the game it would have went to Koby. That boy must have ate his wheaties this morning. He was rockin' both sides of the ball.





Short post tonight. Gotta get busy working on craft fair stuff. I don't have near as much to sell as I wanted.

I'm baaaack.

I decided to try and start blogging again.  I'm sure no one cares what I have to say, but I like writting.  Typepad now has a free version AND I got a new phone so I can blog anytime I want.  Like when I am waiting in the parking lot for the slowest 14 year old known to man to come out of the locker room.

I have no idea when my last post was so I'll just give a not so quick over view of the last few months.....

Jacob joined the track team.  Threw shot and disc.  Didn't do too shabby for his first year.  Ribboned a few times and and lots of fun.

All 3 kids had birthdays.  They are now 14, 10 and 4.

Jacob was elected to student council.  Or as I told Jeff "Jacob just won his first popularity contest."  LOL  I mean you don't have to have any skills or qualify for the job you just put your name on the ballot and your class votes.

Kyle's baseball team went undefeated.  Winning the league championship and tournament.  Kyle only got to play 3 or 4 games, I can't remember because much of this summer was a blur.

Why only a few games?  He had surgery.  Twice.  He had both ankles done and they had to be seperately.  He spent the majority of his summer vacation holding down the couch.  So far so good, he is finally pain free.  Well, with the exception of the pulled legiment and bruised growth plate he got at football practice just a week kafter he was released to play.
I won't go into all the details of the surgery and recovery.  Except to say the only thing that got me through it all was laughing at him on pain meds.  That boy was a riot!  And he doesn't remember any of it. LOL

Both boys entered rockets in the 4-H fair.  They both got Reserve Champions for their divisions.  Jeff and the boys did great again this year.

We have a new family member.  A two year old Pekingese that Boo renamed Pate.  Love him to pieces I just wish he'd stop doing his business in the house.  He and Sully, our Yorkie, have turned into best friends.  With the exception of our need for new carpet, we couldn't ask for a better dog for Boo.  He puts up with a lot from her.

The big news...both boys are racing.  UGH!  It was rough on my nerves at first but I am getting better.  For their first year both boys are holding their own.  Jacob has really impressed me just because most of his class has been racing for years and he is keeping up.  Well, keeping up when there is not mechanical failure.  Ya, that brand spankin new 2010 PitsterPro gets wrenched on more then it should.  Kyle has missed a few races because of his surgery but is still doing well.  If they would both get more aggressive they'd trophy but instead they are always just a few places shy.  I'm turning into one of those freaky moms.  I'm standing there with my camera screaming as they come by.  Jacob wants to know his place so I'm holding up fingers and waving my arms around.  I'm sure I look like a big dumbass but I don't much care.

Boo started preschool.  She cries...when I pick her up to go home.  The girl LOVES it!  I was really worried about how she would do but she seems to be doing great.

It's football season.  Friday Night Lights BAAAAAYBEEEE!!  Our varsity team is doing well again this year.  Crossin' my fingers for another trip to Lucas Oil for the state finals.  Our JV team is undefeated.  Our 8th grade team (Jacob's class) is also undefeated.  I see several more years of awesome Friday Night Football in our future.
Kyle is playing in the youth league.  He's a little ticked off because he can't run the ball.  There's a weight limit to handle the ball and he is over.  Spending most of the summer on the couch made him pack on a few pounds.  He's doing good playing the line.  He does seem to get joy out of knocking kids on their ass.  Kinda reminds me of his dad.  LOL

With football season comes chilly evenings.  Tim is getting a Snuggie to wear to all the games.  It's a sexy look I'm sure he is gonna be lookin' might fine.  ROFLMAO!!!!!

So there is my brief overview of what's been going on around here.  Lots more has happened but I got things to do before bed. 

Some random thoughts and such for your reading enjoyment.

Saturday night I am watching Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs with Boo (age 3) and Jacob (age 13).  The Dwarfs are comeing back from work to discover that Snow White is in their home.  Jacob says, "How many Dwarfs are there anyway?"  I was left speechless as this is my honor roll student.  Even Boo looked at him like he just fell off the turnip truck.

Discoverd last night that a group of 9 year old boys are very different from a group of 13 year boys.  I had 9 year olds here last night.  They all kept their shirts on.  No questionable language.  No phones going off nonstop.  No body odor, smells from bodily functions, excessive cologne or stinky feet.  And most important.....They only eat a fraction of what the 13 year olds eat.
Not one nonrelated 9 year old opened the fridge or cabinets looking for something else to eat.
Not one 9 year old came down the stairs and announced they had to pee.  And then came out to inform me they "didn't think it was ever gonna shut off".  Not one 9 year old tried to give me a bear hug and pick me up. 
The list of differences goes on and on.  However, I am fully aware that in a few short years these same 9 year olds will be doing all of the things list above and more.

I am on my second night of sweet and innocent 9 year olds.  These weekend the 13 year olds will be desending upon my home.  Thank goodness I'm making a grocery trip tomorrow.

"V-Day" is set for April 2.  Yep.  He actually scheduled a vasectomy.  It will be Good Friday in every other home in the County, just not ours.  I do wonder if he is gonna play all big and tough or if he will be a big ol' baby.
And FYI.....I will be paying extra for pain.  He is getting the new proceedure that is no incision and no stitch.  WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!?!  I gave this man 3 children.  Two via c-section and one that should have just been pulled out of my nose because it probably would have caused less damage.  I think he should at least have a little pain.  LOL

Good thing we don't live on a hill.  A few days ago Jacob came in to ask me to move the the car, which happens to be a Suburban, so they can play basketball.  I was busy and told him to give me a few minutes.  I look out the window to see that they had put it in neutral and were trying to push it away from the garage.  It would have been easier if the driveway was paved AND if we hadn't just had several ton of rock hauled in.  I watched them struggle a few minutes before I went out and moved it.  It was good for a laugh.

I seem to be obsessed with Sylvia Browne book.  You know, the psychic that sees spirits and such.  I know, tell me I'm a freak.  But they are really interesting and give you a lot of food for thought.  I've on number 3 and just ordered another today.

I also seem to have a problem with buying sewing patterns.  Even though I haven't sewed in 2 weeks I just keep accumulating patterns.  Part of the reason for lack of sewing is I have been listing a lot on ebay.  My sales are totally in the toilet.  I'm selling stuff but for far less than I was this time last year.

I did make Boo a few Bows the other day.  I hadn't done that in awhile. 

Taken the kids shopping tomorrow.  Jacob needs track shoes.  Kyle needs shorts and we might go ahead and get his baseball cleats.  There is next to zero food in the house so we'll be making a big Walmart trip too.  Maybe I should buy some fabric to go along with all the patterns I'm not sewing.  LOL

That's pretty much it in a nutshell.  Same ol' stuff just a different day.

I need more hours in the day.

And the thing is, the boys don't have anything going on to keep me running.  It's just me trying to keep up here at home and work on all my little "projects".

That'll be changing after Spring Break though.  Jacob has joined the track team.  And Kyle will be starting baseball practice.

The track thing has be scratching my head.  They call Jacob "Turtle" for a reason.  And the wacky kid wears that nickname like a badge of honor.  LOL  He says he is interested in shot and disc but I'm afraid they may stick him in a running event just to have a warm body in an event that they don't have a runner for.
He did run about 2 miles this evening.  He ran the full loop out here and then got his butt chewed by both his dad and I for being on Division Road.  It is waaaay too busy and people drive like they are going to a fire. 

Kyle is ready for baseball.  BUT!  I think he is more excited about racing.  If Jeff's work schedule allows his first race will be on May 2.  Jeff ordered all new racing gear for him yesterday.  He got new boots for Christmas and his helmet is still fine.  Jeff ordered him pants, jersey, gloves and socks.  All orange and black.
Jeff has the 4-wheeler all back together and ready to go.  Today was the first nice evening we've had so Kyle did some test driving.  It's so pleasant to hear Jeff in the driveway yelling, "Floor it!  Give it hell!"  Nice.  Then he had him in the corn field riding in the mud.  I think he is a bit intimidated by the 4-wheeler.  Jeff seems to think it's just that he hasn't rode since October. 

Gotta call it a night and log off the computer.  I need to get a few things done before I head to bed.  Big day tomorrow.  I have to take Jeff to the doctor for a consultation.  He is getting the big "V".  Shhhh.  Don't tell him I told ya'll.  The crazy thing is I have to go to give my consent.  That's just insane.  It's his body, why do they need my permission?

Busy, busy, busy

Sorry for the lack of posts during the last week but, dang, have I been busy. 
Nothing exciting has kept me away, just doing this and that around the house.

Boo and I went shopping Friday.  We went and bought fabric for doll clothes.  I made her a denim jumper dress over the weekend.  Turned out so cute I have started on a second outfit.
I was afraid it would take forever to get something made so we also bought a doll outfit, diapers, potty seat, etc.  This has somewhat quieted her requests for a baby sister.  Her bitty baby doll is now her baby sister and her name is Sally.  I have no idea where the name Sally came from.

We also went to the resell store.  You know me, love cheap cute clothes.  Boo picked out everything we bought.  She was cracking me up.  I'd show her something and she would either say "It's beautiful!" or "Yuck! Pick something else."

Today was the deadline for the vet camp application.  I told him last week I would overnight the application if he wanted to write his essay's.  He decided he didn't want to apply.  He's afraid they will reject him.  Plus, I think he was alittle scared to be gone a week over his birthday and not know anyone.  There's always next year.  Or maybe he will decide he wants to be a trashman instead.  That's what he wanted to be when he was Brookelyn's age.  LOL

Kyle's orthotic inserts came last week.  He is doing really well with them.  If he is being truthful he is also having less pain.  I'm crossing my fingers that these will do the trick and realine everything so the tenndons and ligaments can heal and surgery won't be needed.
We go for a follow up in two weeks to make sure they are fitting properly.

This is a totally free week.  I have absolutly nothing on the calendar.  That doesn't happen often.  I'm going to spend the week doing stuff around the house, sewing and making bows to match Boo's new spring/summer clothes.

I'm off to fold 5 loads of laundry.  I just kept pushing them through today and piled them in the basket.
Here's hoping I haev a productive week "off".

Thank goodness that's over with.

I had my repeat mammogram today and I also had an ultrasound because the mammo didn't give them a good enough view.  I got to speak with a very kind Radiologist and he gave me the results on the spot.  I am fine.  Like other women in my family I have dense breast tissue.  Mine is one large patch in the right breast.  They will watch it for changes.
The only downside is this was to be my baseline and then I wouldn't have to have another mammogram until I was 40.  After this discovery I now start yearly mammograms.  I figure that is a small price to pay considering what could have been.

So now I am telling everyone....Get a mammogram.  If you are my age in your mid 30's get your baseline done.  If you are in your 40's it is time for a yearly mammogram.  And you young gals get informed.  Learn how to do a proper self breast exam.  If you expect anything out of the ordinary call your doctor ASAP.
I will get down off my soap box now but there are a few of you that I will be hounding on a regular basis.  You know who you are!

Brookelyn informed a me a couple weeks ago that she wants a baby sister.  HA!  Dream on little one, that ain't gonna happen.  Tonight she got to hold a baby and now that is all she is talking about.  Dawn brought her neice, London, over for a short visit.  Boo just loved her.  I told her next time Dawn is babysitting we will just go for a visit 'cause this momma ain't birthin' no more babies.
